Light On The Horizon

At last, we are able to go racing again having had a few false starts, and the excitement of planning, entering and declaring runners is back. We have Catterick tomorrow and are then planning for racing at Warwick, Wetherby, and Kelso over the weekend before two days at Ayr, as long as the weather stays calm.

At Catterick tomorrow we have two runners; Vengeur De Guye and It'stimeforapint.

The going is soft which will be much more to Vengeur's liking after being outpaced at Kelso last time, his work rider, Lea reports that he is in good order and we are hoping for a good run.

It'stimeforapint has always had this race in his program for this season, although we had hoped to have had a few more runs before now. He was third in this race last year and the track and going should suit.

Derek rides both horses tomorrow; he has been doing a great job at home and along with Thomas, Stephen and Blair have just brought a number of young horses back into work. These include the French now three year olds Hetre Pourpre and Flutter Down who look tremendous after a few months to grow. They will continue their pre training and may run in the early summer.

Also back in to work are a couple of summer horses, Present Lodger, Morito Du Berlais, Ballycool, Big Mac and Devitosgoldengirl.
